Refurbish
A general tune-up without stripping the piece down to its bones.
What happens: fixing back the same fabric, touching up scratches on wooden legs, tightening loose joints, or adding a bit of extra stuffing to sagging cushions.
Best for: A sofa that is still in good shape but looks a bit tired or “lived-in.”

Reupholstery
This is specifically about replacing the “cushion cover”. It is the most common choice when you love the sofa’s shape but hate the fabric.
What happens: Removing all old fabric, replacing worn-out foam or batting, and applying brand-new upholstery material. It may also involve repairing the internal springs.
Best for: Changing the color/style of a room or fixing a sofa with great “bones” but ruined fabric (tears, stains, or outdated patterns).

Restoration
This is process aimed at returning a sofa to its original, “like-new” condition, often using historically accurate methods and materials.
What happens: Stripping the piece to the bare frame, repairing the woodwork, re-tying springs by hand, and using period-correct fabrics. The goal is to preserve the integrity and value of the piece.
Best for: Antiques, family heirlooms, or high-end designer vintage pieces (like an original Eames or Chesterfield).
“Original and with an innate understanding of their customer’s needs, the team at Love Nature are always a pleasure to work with.”
